An ICC profile is a set of data that characterizes a colour input or output device, or a colour space, according to standards promulgated by the International Colour Consortium (ICC).
There are two kinds of profiles, Input profiles and the Device profiles.
Input profiles
These profiles are used for the RIP to get the colour information of an image.
Device profiles
These profiles are used for colour reproduction that maximizes the printer ability based on the colour information of the input profile. These contain information about the printer conditions to perform optimal.
